I'm Selina Nguyen (she/they) and I'm a clinical sex and relationship therapist, sexology supervisor, writer, and founder of Come Back to Bed.
Come Back to Bed is a space for curiosity, learning and sexual exploration. Whether you're seeking therapy with me in Marrickville, Sydney, online across Australia or internationally (excluding the US and Canada), or looking to deepen your understanding through my writing, workshops, educational offerings and clinical supervision, you'll find resources here to support your play.
Who are the folks I like to work with? I work with folks from many different walks of life, yet all who feel stuck in their relationship, their bodies or sex lives in some way and often wondering "how did we even get here?" or "is it even possible to work through this?".
This space is for people who want to find their desire, deepen their relationships, get to know vulnerability and create space for pleasure. I work with many folks whose relationships otherwise feel really great and want their sex lives to feel similarly. I especially love working with people who haven't had the opportunity or haven't known how to reflect and talk about sex.
How do I practice? You are a not a problem to fix, but a human to be witnessed. I invite you into conversations that are a soft blend of theory and practical where we might dive deep into what intimacy means for you at this stage in your life, but also what does it actually mean to be in your body or to feel your feelings.
Anchored in queer and somatic theories, I reflect back where I see you getting stuck and offer other paths through education, pleasure and connection. I'm passionate about taking all that feels hard to say and sharing it together. I hope to offer you a soft space to land, to fall apart and to be challenged. Alongside my formal degrees, I also get to playfully interweave my approach with my further trainings in the worlds of disability, non-monogamy, relational somatics and tantric massage.
What's my practice philosophy? I aim to be transparent in all that I do and I work from a relational, pleasure-centric and non-pathologising approach. The lenses through which I see the world and my practice is influenced by being Asian-Australian, queer, feminist, a daughter of immigrants and a cisgender woman living without disability.
I believe in the healing power of connection, and the need for us to learn how to be good romantic and sexual partners, whether that be learning how to navigate vulnerable conversations, creating new patterns, getting out of our heads, prioritising our sexual selves and more. I believe that how we approach sex is a mirror for how we approach our lives and in so, I work in ways that are holistic and honour this.
